In 2008 I was recruited to bobsleigh from the sport of track and field. Before bobsleigh track and field was my passion. I was a provincial high-school hurdle champion and a 2-time All-Canadian in the 60m hurdles while captain of the track team at the University of Guelph. I graduated from Guelph with a degree in Economics and Finance and hope to have a career in business upon retiring from sport.

My first two seasons in bobsleigh were spent sliding as part of the National development program. I subsequently joined Lyndon Rush and the Canada 1 crew as the top sled in the Nation. As a part of the Canada 1 crew we have won 4 World-Cup medals and two World-Championship medals in the team event. In 2010 I was named the top male athlete in Ontario. My pops, Ole Sorensen, is a former Canadian Olympic wrestler who wrestled in the Munich Olympics in 1972.
